Nikkayla’s background in education and psychology fueled her desire to better understand the developmental needs of her growing children. As they got older, she noticed that their relationship with play evolved alongside them and that their needs for movement, creativity, sensory input, rest, and exploration shifted over time. As the parent of a neurodivergent child, she also understood how important the sensory experience of play can be for emotional regulation, connection, and easing transitions throughout the day.
After struggling to find spaces that offered the flexibility, variety, and developmental support her children needed, Nikkayla decided to create one herself. She believes curiosity is a primary driver of learning and that nurturing organic curiosity begins with choice, exploration, and access to a variety of ways to play, create, move, and connect. After all, we all need different things at different times.
